For the most part I don’t mind aging. I feel wiser, don’t sweat the small stuff and know myself well. There is one thing, however, I don’t like and that is my crow’s feet. They have deepened and begun creeping onto my cheeks over the last few years. At one point I resolved not to smile because that brings them out but that only lasted about 10 minutes. What can I say? I’m a happy person!
When I was asked to test the TRIA Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser, I admit I was thrilled! After trying eleventy-billion eye creams with mediocre results, I feel I’m at the point that I really need something more effective. Tria has a proven track record of fractional non-ablative laser treatments and this one is specifically designed for use on fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes. Now I don’t expect miracles but I if I can get a slight reduction in my crow’s feet I will be a happily take my middle age in stride.
What Is It?
The TRIA Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser is a safe, FDA cleared, at-home fractional non-ablative laser. Non ablative simply means that the wavelength of the laser heat up the water in the skin tissue, causing a stimulation of the creation of new collagen. Collagen is a protein produced as a result of the laser and we all know that collagen is what gives elasticity and suppleness to skin.
How Does It Work?
The laser light penetrates deep below the skin’s surface to stimulate cell renewal to diminish hard-to-treat wrinkles and reveal more radiant, youthful looking eyes.
Tria’s technology is the same type that professionals use for in -office treatments, but Tria’s solution is a fraction of the cost and it can be used at your own leisure and in the comfort of your own home.
How To Use:
After cleansing apply the Tria in a circular motion to peri-orbital area. Repeat for each eye. Most people liken the laser to feeling like a rubber band snapping but I think it feels lighter than that–more like teeny tiny pin pricks–honestly it’s not bad at all. Afterwards the treated area feels like a light sunburn and will be slightly red. The kit includes a calming gel that works great. The packaging has a metal applicator tip that is cooling and soothing to the touch–much appreciated. I use the laser at night just before bed and after about 10 minutes the sunburned feeling is gone and by morning the redness is gone also. It is recommended for use at night to minimize any daytime redness and irritation.
Everything about the laser is well thought out. It’s small making it easier to navigate around the under eye area. The device has small indents on the sides for your fingers to grasp making it glide easily. Simply press the on button and the laser will start when it touches your skin, then automatically turn off after 1 minute. On to the other eye!
My Thought and Experience:
The TRIA Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser couldn’t be easier or more convenient to use. I add it to my nighttime skincare routine–it only takes an additional two minutes so there is virtually no impact.
You need to know: it is not painful but it is uncomfortable—since you only use it for 1 minute on each eye it’s totally doable. The treated area will be red after using the laser and it will get dry. This is good–it means the laser is actively working to stimulate collagen and elastin. You will probably need a hydrating eye cream in addition to the Tria soothing gel–the skin in that area will get very dry. If you experience tenderness, you can switch to using the Tria every other day and still get results. I know a few bloggers that did this. As for me, there were two times during the 8 weeks that I stopped for two days in a row and started back in again.
Do not expect immediate results. Stick to the program (2 min/night for 8 weeks), It can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks to begin to see results and reduction in eye wrinkles will be most visible a few weeks after you complete the 8 week course of treatment. Within 2-4 weeks, you will start to notice that your eyes look brighter. Make sure to use the aftercare cream and apply an SPF of at least 30 everyday as skin will be more sensitive.

Bottom Line: The pictures speak for themselves! The TRIA Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser is a real no-brainer. It’s super easy to use, delivers results and you can use it in the privacy of your own home! I am very pleased with my results and I will continue to use it again after my 4 week break.
